Caterpillar

M – Are all caterpillars hungry? Well, ours is…also known as Nectarine. Thus, for her very first birthday gathering, the theme was around “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” book.

Caterpillar as recreated by D

Monday's meal for the caterpillar

She had Monday (apple), Tuesday (pear), Thursday (strawberry), and Friday (orange).

I have to say D did almost everything, and did it well. The day began with homemade waffles and fresh toppings, followed by the opening of the presents, and yummy cake.

Mmm. Yum

Unlike a certain picky someone, she was willing to try her cake right away – but still daintily (insofar as a one-year-old can be :P)

7 family. Many pictures.

The above picture had Nectarine and Mango (can you guess who they are?), twin cousins (who are very different), and three cousins from the other familial side (including the ‘Elusive Elf”).

Okay. One mommy, 1 cousin, 2 cousins (twins), 2 aunts, 1 uncle, 1 grandma - and Nectarine

Hey, you try and get one 3-year-old and 3 1-year-olds to all look in the same direction at once

Needing a break. Parties are tiring, no matter which generation

See? Even had the ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ on Nectarine’s shirt. D is amazing.

Quick note for Nectarine. Here’s some of what happened Historically on March 6th.

** Update: since then, she has gotten proficient at crawling, stair climbing,  wall-walking, and much more. Maybe having an older sister is pushing her to catch up…

  2. Thanks. It went very well, considering how many children were there. We are doing well, just always tired.
