To each their own.

M – Mango is already carving out her personality definitively. When given the option, she invariably goes for two different colour socks, slippers, and just about anything else.

At least one side matched the colour of her pants

Since I am a nice guy, I have also gone to work once or twice with different socks (good thing there is no dress code where I work…). She wanders around the house wearing pants and a headband (she puts on) pulled down around her neck. She insists on putting her cute doggy toque herself – backwards.

Lookit! I put it on all by myself!

She even ‘fixes’ it back when we turn it the right way around. With it being backwards, she can barely see where she is going (not that she seems to care). Such is the life of an independent 22 month old child. She can barely see the tabletop, but insists on sitting on a regular chair – without a booster seat. Surprisingly, she still doesn’t make much of a mess. No pictures of that but there is one of her testing out other slippers which she insisted on putting all by herself.

Not tied up and on the wrong feet, but still mobile

Fun stuff aside, she is still quite amazing. We had to go to a walk-in clinic recently (not for Mango but for her sickly parents). We got there at 5:45 p.m. and didn’t leave until around 7:30 p.m (thus getting home at 8:00 p.m. or so.) We had to wait about 1 hour and 15 minutes in the crowded waiting room. She was great. Not one complaint from her. Quite something, considering she normally has a bath around 6:30 p.m. and is has a snack while watching a DVD teaching ASL (which she seems to prefer over cartoons right now) before going to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. Not bad for a whirlwind of a 22 month-old child who never stops moving all day. I swear she had more patience than me (or D). This picture showing her enormous energy is unfortunately from August, but it is hard to keep up with and take pictures while doing so.

What a girl.
