Sweet Pumpkin Pie

M – Mango was a cutie pie, all dressed up as a pumpkin (kindly donated to us). Unfortunately she woke up that very morning with one eye swollen shut. As the day progressed, it cleared up somewhat, but it what perplexing. Even the doctor we went to couldn’t think of what it might be. He just told us to put a warm damp cloth on the eye 3 times a day. She seemed fine though (maybe a bit lethargic), and never complained about it. Still, we kept our trick-or-treating to a minimum (just two houses – and we didn’t even get candy from one of them :o). As such, our picture selection is sparse. Here are some.

No pumpkin smiles here, just one unamused face.

What's that bump? Are you hiding a pumpkin in there?

Still sporting the last of her swollen eye.

Still, she kept going … and going … and going … all day. Even though her nap was short, she enjoyed the costume and hat. Really – she asked us to put it back on (including the hat) when we got home and took it off. Crazy girl.

Still going ... and finding enough energy to enjoy herself too!

Not a stellar day (we spent over an hour that morning waiting in a walk-in clinic, waiting to see a doctor (who unfortunately ended up not helping much)). So to recap; 1)  woke up at 8:00 a.m. with eye swollen shut,  2) played for 1 1/2 hours, 3) went to clinic until noonish, 4) had a timbit treat, 5) went home for a short nap, 6) got up and went to two houses (relatives of ours), 7) returned home for supper, 8 ) went through night-time routine, 9) went to bed around 8:00 p.m. A 12 hour day for a sick child who didn’t cry. Thanks Mango. We love you.
